Cloudy skies with just a hint of rain greeted the para-cycling competitors for the first ever Virginia and MABRA State Championships in Shenandoah, Virginia. The temps were perfect and the course was Euro-tough, as any championship course should be, with plenty of steep inclines, to make the legs and arms burn, and "spin-out" downhills fast enough to raise the hair on the back of your neck!
Special thanks to co-promoters, Chris Gould and Robert Dolan, Shenandoah's Mayor, Mr. Clinton Lucas, Jr., members of Page Valley Cycling and the many cheerful local volunteers who made the day really special for all the riders!
Next up, Church Creek #2 the last race in the 2014 series. It's a best 5 of 7 series, so some categories are too close to call .. could be exciting!!
